BeagleBone Android performance with micro SD and micro SDHC cards

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3359

I have tested BeagleBone board (AM3359) with different micro SD cards and here are what I found:

1. With a Sandisk micro SD 2GB card, Android boot time is excellent (first boot or subsequent boots).  With this micro SD, Android apps in rowboPERF were carried out quickly.

2. If Android image installed on micro SDHC cards such as 4GB (class 4) or 8GB (class 10), it will take from 5 minutes to hours with a few reset to bring up the Android home page.  Android apps in rowboPERF were carrried out very slow.

Note that I said "carried out" means time to "click" the apps until the time for the app actual running.  Once apps run, there is no differences in the app. performance.

3. I don't have other micro SD or SDHC cards for testing if the size and type of micro SD/SDHC causes this problem

4. I tried to partition the SDHC cards with the same sizes of 3 partitions in 2GB card, the same problem happens.

  - Are there any problems with SDHC driver ?

  - Why does the micro SD card (with much slower read/write speed) have better performance than the other high speed (SDHC) cards ?
