THS8135 for DM814X

Hi ,

One of my customer would like to do Thin client application based on DM814X processor and they want to connet the RGB through the Video DAC THS8135, the THS8135 will support resolution upto 1600x1200.but customer resolution requirement is support 1920x 1200. In the data sheet of Video DAC: THS8136 the resolution support is not mention. Please confirm the resolution support of THS8136 or please suggest the Video DAC for max resolution 1920x 1200.

Vengat,

1920x1200x60Hz requires a 193,25 MSPS pixel clock.

1920x1200x60Hz (reduced blanking) requires a 154.00 MSPS pixel clock.

The THS8135 (0C-70C) has a maximum pixel rate of 240 MSPS and can support both of these formats.

The THS8136 (-40C-85C) has a maximum pixel rate of 180 MSPS and can support only reduced blanking.

Note that both of these devices require 1.8V input logic levels.

The THS8200 (0C-70C) supports 3.3V I/O and has a maximum pixel rate of 205 MSPS.

Hi ,

For the same project , We had suggested the TUSB2046B hub for DM8148 processor , customer would like to know about the Wake up fuctionality can be implememented in TUSB2046B Hub controller through the DM8148 processor .

a) Davinci processor has 2 USB controller with wake up fuctionality i guess ? the DM8148 will support the wake up fuctionality ?

b) if it is so will it support with TUSB2046B ?

c) the DM8148 doed not have in build Temp sensor capability , what temp sensor will support the DM8148 to measure tempearture ?

Hi Vengat,

DM8148 can support maximum pixel clock upto 165MHz. So 1920X1200 can be supported only with reduced Vesa blanking. DM8148 cant support 1920X1200 with full blanking range.

TVP7002 can support up to 1080p. Please check its DS for full spec.

The TVP7002 is an ADC, not a DAC :)

For DACs you can use the THS8200 if your IO voltage is 1.8V or 3.3V, or you can use the THS8135/36 if your IO is 1.8V.

The THS8200 is currently being used in several TC designs requiring 3.3V DM8148 I/O support. The THS8200 can support both RGB graphics and HD component.

If 1.8V I/O can be used with the DM8148, and if RGB graphics is all that is required, the THS8135 is a good choice.
