DRA821U: Is there a non Flash mode for reading and writing on the OSPI devices?

Tool/software:

Hi TI,

Hardware:We have a custom board that uses OSPI to connect FPGA;

Software:In dtsi file compatible = "ti,am654-ospi"; have been configured;

Now we found TRM shows OSPI only supports flash mode,but our FPGA not run as flash;

Question：

1.Did I misunderstand TRM?

2.Is there any other way or driver that supports read and write FPGA in non flash mode?

Hi,

The TRM is correct in that our testing only supports OSPI as a flash interface. I have not seen OSPI being used in a non-flash mode. We do not support read and write FPGA through OSPI.

1.Will TI have a verification plan for OSPI other ways in the near future?

2.if I write driver to write and read OSPI,can you provide some ideas or advise?

Hi,

1. No, TI will not support OSPI in other ways in the near future at least.

2. If you wrote your own driver, we would not be able to support this unfortunately.
