Hi Team,

Regarding UFS NAND Flash THGAF8G8T23BAIL (U19) 32Gb and eMMC (MTFC16GAPALBH-AAT) U40 (128Gb). both are volatile memory with big memory size.

As we are using very limited interface. Like we are not using PCIE, DSI, Display port, SERDES, USB3.0, USB3.1, audio interface, ADC interface, I3C, CSI2, MIPI interface. we are not using any high communication or high data interface apart from 1Gbps ethernet communication only. so, could we customize volatile memory size. so, i am thinking to remove U19 UFS Nand Flash. I think eMMC U40 enough for our OS & code Storage. is it okay for design please share your ideas.

Hi Jitendra,

Can you further clarify what this would look like? Do you have a schematic to show?

We have not tested what removing UFS flash would do to the interface, so hard to say what will happen.

Customers can chose what type of non-volatile memory they wish to support. It is not required to support both eMMC and UFS - either can be used. The size of the memory is dependent on your application.
