AM6442: Boot option with and without SD card

Tool/software:

Hi team,

We are using TDMS64EVM, where we are trying to develop RT Linux in a53_0 and a53_1, then Free RTOS for one dual core for R5F and BareMetal for other dual core, my question is whether SD card is mandatory to hold kernel and rootfs in order to run the application, or is any chance to hold the entire kernel and rootfs into flash in any other format, help us to understand with options.

Hello Sankar,

SD card is not required to hold the Linux filesystem. You can also flash the Linux filesystem to onboard memory on the EVM.

FYI: resources for doing Linux + R5F development

R5F development when Linux is running on the A53 cores is a bit different from R5F development when an RTOS (or no software) is running on the A53 cores.
