Tool/software:

GPIO can be set to pull-up or pull-down, but can it be set to open drain?

Do I have to set up an external open drain circuit?

Hi Yamada-san,

The GPIO use LVCMOS push-pull buffers and have no open-drain mode. May I ask why you need open drain mode?

Thank you for your comment.

As an example, let's connect an LED.

Since +5V will be connected to the LED, open drain is required.

Other companies' MCUs allow for push-pull and open-drain settings.

Hi Yamada-san,

I understand. In this case, I believe you will need to setup an external open-drain circuit.

Here is an example snippet from the TMDSEVM572X EVM schematic.
