Hello,

We have designed a custom board using TI's AM6421BSFGHAALV processor. We are able to boot it successfully over UART.

But when we try to boot it over OSPI, we are getting below error:

Bootloader_socCpuResetRelease:873: CPU power on failed for a530-1 Some tests have failed!!

We tried to look into TRM but all boot-mode settings seem fine. Can you please help here?

Hi Nikhil,

Since you have tried booting over OSPI, hence, the Serial NOR or Serial NAND Flash that you have on your custom board must be in use and effective.

Please let me know the flash part.

And apart from this try to get the flash configurations from the following guide, post which I can tell you the further steps.

Looks like it is the default OSPI Flash part which is also on the AM64x TI EVM.

Let me check the datasheet and the exact flash part name as well just to confirm on this.

Yes, It is the same part used on AM64x TI EVM.

Hi,

I have reviewed the flash datasheet and the OSPI bootmode description as well.

Before we move ahead for a specific bootmode it is a good practise to just give the description of "How booting happens for a specific bootmode".

In this case, OSPI bootmode has the following description:

We see that 0x8B is not any command mentioned in the flash datasheet, hence this bootmode is not supported.
