AM62A3: Question about AM62Ax

Part Number: AM62A3

Tool/software:

Hi, TI experts,

when I checked the AM62Ax Sitara Processors Technical Reference Manual and linux sdk V10.01, I found that there are several concepts that I don't quite understand. Please help me answer my questions:

Q1. When the system starts up, it mentions M4 ROM code. What does M4 refer to?Is the  Arm Cortex-R5F Processor (R5FSS) in  Device WKUP Domain?

Q2.In the prebuilt-filesystem, I found this firmware for R5F named ipc_echo_test_mcu2_0_release_strip.xer5f. May I ask which core is this for?

Q3.What is the purpose of this firmware named  ipc_echo_testb_mcu1_0_release_strip.xer5f in <linux-sdk-path>/board-support/prebuilt-images ? Is the firmware of MCU-R5F?

Q4.In the SDK manual, I found the following description of the startup process, but I have a few questions

  • What does TIFS refer to? M4?
  • What does MAIN R5F mean? I understand it should mean MCU R5F, right?
  • Which firmware does the Load r5f firmware refer to?
