AM62L: Regarding availability of AM62L

Part Number: AM62L

Tool/software:

Hello,

I see that the current status of the XAM62L32AOGHAANB in preproduction.

  • Can you please share the timeline for market availability of AM62L series SoC?
  • Any plan for Automotive grade parts in the same series?
  • Also if you can share the unit price range.

This would help me SoC selection further.

Thanks,

Nikunj

  • Hello Nikunj,

The AM62L is currently in preproduction. We will have the device released by the end of 3Q. This is a general purpose ARM processor rated for -40 to 125C. The current variant is not Automotive grade.

Please let me know if there are any other questions

  • Hi Mahir,

Please help me with below information:

    • Is there any future plan for Automotive grade part in the same series?
    • Also, if you can share the price range for non-automotive and automotive grade for Qty 1-2000. I see the unit price of  XAM62L32AOGHAANB  is $9.95.
    • Current stock availability and distributor information for procurement of the same.

    Thanks,

    Nikunj

  • Hi Nikunj,

We are looking into this for our roadmap. For specific price ranges & volume quotation, I would recommend reaching out to your local TI sales representatiive. We will have stock on TI.com, right now you will find the pre-production silicon.

  • Noted Mahir. Thanks for the information.

On the technical front, In the datasheet noticed that the AM62Lx supports DDR4/LPDDR4 without inline ECC. Is that correct understanding? If yes, can you please share the details about handling of error correction in the hardware/firmware.

    Thanks,

    Nikunj

  • Correct, AM62L does not have inline ECC.  If you need ECC for DDR, you would need to choose a different device in the product line (probably AM62x is closest, but not sure of the peripheral mix you need)
