SK-AM62A-LP: DCC Tuning tool related query

Part Number: SK-AM62A-LP

Tool/software:

Hello Expert,

I got access to DCC Tuning tool today and Also I referred ISP tuning guide, DCC tuning documentation in the tool help section. I didn't get a clear picture of how to use the tool.

1: When I create a new project seems I need to select some file (not a folder), so I created a sample folder and included 5 raw images from imx219 then, I tried. Seems a caution prompt about that file.
After that I randomly tried to open stdout. then file name in windows file selector becomes that. I don't change the file name and go to the sample folder then open. It open the dialog box that ask the raw file parameters.
Is this approach is good. Also it created a stdout.txt file in sample folder.

2: I saw the raw image in the preview window. But it couldn't change after I modify the values in plugins. Where I can see the preview image (Blank screen in preview section of plugin parameters and user preference window)

3: Should I change the properties separately for all images or will it affect the whole images in the directory?

Warm Regards,
Sajan

  • Hi Sajan,

When I create a new project seems I need to select some file (not a folder)

For creating a new project, you will need to navigate to a path of your choice, enter the desired project folder name and press "save". This will populate the project tuning folder.

Below is an example of the folder structure created:

    sample_test

    - .plugoutdir

    - Userdata

    - sample_test.prj

Should I change the properties separately for all images or will it affect the whole images in the directory

To preview RAW/YUV images in the tuning tool, the properties must match in the "Raw file parameters" dialog box. We recommend to have separate folders for each camera module so that the properties remain the same.

  • Hello Chau,

Can you please check this image. This says that I need to gave an existing file name and save to continue.
I created a folder named NewProject in ti/DCC/bin and tried to save but it need a filename.

    Regards,
    Sajan

  • Hi Sajan,

I understand how that may be confusing but to create a new project, simply enter the desired name in the 'File name' field and click save. This will automatically create a new project folder with that name in the selected directory.

  • Hello Chau,

2: I saw the raw image in the preview window. But it couldn't change after I modify the values in plugins. Where I can see the preview image (Blank screen in preview section of plugin parameters and user preference window)

    Can you please answer this?

Also can you clarify what should I add in the created new project. If you can, give me a folder structure. I mean where should I add raw images, also type of images required for tuning and How many images?
Should I paste the bin files created through cloning github repo imaging-main. If yes, that 3 bin files or everything in IMX219_output

Below is the folder structure of created project.

    /ti/DCC/bin/
    NewProject
    |--- .plugoutdir <folder>
    |--- Userdata <folder>
    |--- new.prj

  • Hi Sajan,

Where I can see the preview image (Blank screen in preview section of plugin parameters and user preference window)

As documented in our ISP Tuning Guide, you may change the images to preview through the browse window.

I mean where should I add raw images, also type of images required for tuning and How many images?

You may create a folder within your "NewProject" folder to save all the captured images.

Please refer to the ISP Tuning Guide for the tuning process.
