TMS320C5517: Request for USB Host Tool for Testing C5517 USB Examples on TMS320C5517 EVM

Part Number: TMS320C5517

Tool/software:

Dear TI Support Team,

I am currently working with the TMS320C5517 EVM and evaluating the USB functionality using the example projects provided in the C5517 USB software package (e.g., WINUSB, HID, MSC examples).

In the documentation for these examples, it is mentioned that a host-side USB test tool is required to validate and test the USB device functionality. However, I was unable to locate this host tool in the software package or associated resources.

Could you kindly provide the USB host tool or direct me to where it can be downloaded? This will help me in fully testing and validating the USB example implementations.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,
Eswar Badri

  • Hi Eswar,

We used to provide the USB host tools for the following examples:

    CSL_USB_PollExample

    CSL_USB_IsochronouosPollExample

    CSL_USB_DmaExample

    CSL_USB_IntcExample

but the tools are not available anymore due to the licensing issue.

The rest of the examples do not need the USB host tools, because the Windows support those USB classes (MSC, CDC, HID and WinUSB) directly.

    Best regards,

    Ming

  • Hi Ming,

Thank you for the clarification regarding the USB host tools and their licensing status.

I am currently working with the CSL_USB_WinUSB_Example on the C5517 EVM. As per the example documentation, there is a mention of a USB host test tool named WinUsbTest.exe, which is required to validate the example functionality through a GUI-based interface. The test procedure refers to actions such as connecting via the USB Device GUID (9f543223-cede-4fa3-b376-a25ce9a30e74), detecting the device status, and running the image test with visual feedback.

Could you please advise where I can obtain a copy of WinUsbTest.exe or if there is an alternative method or updated tool available to test this example?

    Appreciate your support.

    Best regards,
    Eswa

  • Hi Eswar,

    Here is the WinUsbTest.exe package.
