Hello,

as below screenshot show, if we do not use GPMC function(no NOR/NAND flash), if these PINs(GPMC0_AD0~GPMC0_AD15) must connect to VSS(if these PINs not used)? or can we just leave it open?

also, these multi_function PINs can be used as other function as below show, right?

Hello liujian zhang ,

As described in the table, each of these pins must be held in '1' or '0' during resets. These pins select the boot mode and boot sequence for the SoC.

You can either add either 16 x DIP switches or jumpers or 16 x places for pull-up/pull-down resistors.

Kindly familiarize yourself with section 5.3.1 BOOTMODE Pin Mapping in the device TRM.

Yes, these pins could be used for other functions after BOOTMODE pin sensing completes.

You must ensure that the other functions do not interfere with the resistor voltage levels (0 or 1) and the other way around.

Here is a part of the EVM schematic concerning BOOTMODE pins. You may want to skip the switches later in your production boards and ensure 1 and 0 voltage levels only with resistors.

Here is a schematic with buffers that connect resistors to BOOTMODE pins and disconnect them after POR release. From this time on, the 16 pins are free to use.

Buffers is not necessary at all times, it depend on the SoC function you need to use.
