Does DM8148 HDVPSS(M3 firmware) work on DDR2?

Hello,

I downloaded a binary of HDVPSS from the following URLs.

HDVPSS binary compatible with PSP release version 04.01.00.05

But it was written DDR3 1G or DDR3 512M as support.

| Two different M3 firmwares, ti814x_hdvpss_512M.xem3 and ti814x_hdvpss_1G.xem3 are provided to support
| 512M DDR3 EVM and 1GB DDR3 EVM. The 512M.xem3 can be used on 512MB while 1G.xem3 can only be
| used over 1GB DDR3 EVM.

My environment is DM8148 + DDR2 512M.
I want to know whether downloading binary "ti814x_hdvpss_512M.xem3" works.

Hi,

Yes, if environment is 512MB, ti814x_hdvpss_512M.xem3 should work. This firmware does not depend on the type of DDR used.

The code .xem3 should be the same, only the GEL file that configure the DDR is different. You need to use the DDR2 GEL file to configure the DDR2 on your board before you load the xem3 file then run.

I am using DM8148 and DDR2 128MB.

Can anyone provide me the GEL script for DDR2 128MB configuration?

It will also be helpful if DDR2 512MB Gel script is available.

Prabhu,

I don't think this will be available. You'll have to calculate the settings yourself.

Hi,

There is DDR2 gel file inside Docs folder of HDVPSS release. You can use that but you have to make sure that parameters matches your board.
