DM814x Unused pins

Hi,

We intend to use the DM814x IC in one of our applications.

The question relates to the usage of "unused pins(ball)" in the 814x device.

In the reference schematics (of evaluation board), these unused balls are connected to VDD or GND.

In our new PCB, we want to confirm, if we can also follow the same approach.

Regards,

  • Hello,

Please refer to the Terminal Functions tables and the section "Handling Unused Pins" in the datasheet for details on what to do with the unused pins.

    Regards,
    Marc

  • Along those same lines.

In The Reserved Terminal Functions (Table 3-48) it gives:

RSV4 and RSV5 pins Y14 and AC8 Type S (supply)  "Reserved. (Leave unconnected. do not connect to power or ground.)"

Sec 4.4: "All supply pins must be connected to the correct voltage, even when their associated signal pins are unused."

On the Mistral EVM they are connected to 1.8V.

Seems like the documentation is at odds with itself. Which is correct? I would assume that Table 3-48 is incorrect (I hate to assume anything if I don't have to :-) ).

    Thanks,

    Phil

  • Datasheet is correct.
