Hello,

as below show, what's the process_Corner "nominal and strong" means? i found when chose strong process corner, the leakage current will be more high then nominal, here could you pls help explain what's the difference between "nominal and strong"? and this is physical individual differences? thanks!

Hi,

"nominal and strong" are transistors silicon process variations from FAB/manufacturing. They will impact the estimated leakage power. The combination between high temperature and strong process corner would help you estimate the worst case leakage power for your active power.

for the leakage current, If has some buffer included? i mean the actual leakage current in real application will be less than estimated?

Hi,

The power estimation tool is based on measured and simulated data; they are provided “as is” and are not guaranteed within a specified precision. This data can be used to estimate active power consumption, for thermal analysis but not for supply sizing.

if the power consumption just for thermal analysis but not for supply sizing, how can i estimated my power supply capability enough? for example, TPS65224 is designed to supply to AM62P, in my application, TPS65224 also supply to LPDDR4(1V8 & 1V1) and eMMC(3V3 & 1V8), how can i know the power supply capability is sufficient?

Hi,

For supply sizing, we recommend using the max current ratings. TPS6522430-Q1 can be used to supply AM62P and main peripherals like LPDDR4 and eMMC.

We provide the PET for customers to estimate the AM62P active power. To get specific power consumption on LPDDR4, eMMC and other peripherals, we recommend reaching out to their manufacturers.
