AM625: DRVVBUS Internal Pulls

Part Number: AM625

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

My customer has a question on the DRVVBUS recommendation.

Since during boot, DRVVBUS has an internal pull down that will be enabled, they believe an issue arises when they try to use DRVVBUS as a GPIO.

  (sprado3a)

If they implement a pull up that is much larger than the internal pull down, then it will not cause issues if they do not care about power consumption. Is this not allowed? If so, why not?

Best regards,

Mari Tsunoda

  • Hello Mari Tsunoda

    Thank you for the query.

If they implement a pull up that is much larger than the internal pull down, then it will not cause issues if they do not care about power consumption. Is this not allowed? If so, why not?

The checklist covers one of the use case where the IO is used to drive the power switch with EN input.

After reset the SOC IO is an input with pulldown enabled.

For the GPIO use case customer can consider any solution that can ensure the Vilss or Vihss are not influenced considering the SOC IO max leakage

The pull can be reconfigured by the software.
