Have the TMS320C6678 and TMS320C6655 processors ever been certified to RTCA DO-254, RTCA DO-178, or equivalent avionics industry standards?

If using these processors in an avionics product, can TI provide an airworthiness certification assistance package for the device(s)? How do I request such support?

To ensure project continuity: Will the TMS320C6678 and TMS320C6655 remain on active production status for at least the next 36 months?

Hi Liu,

To my knowledge, the C6678 & C6655 are not compliant with DO-178C or DO-254 standards.

FYI, The last SDK for this device was released in Apr 2020, and there are no new SDK revision plans.

So, if I use the TMS320C6678 and TMS320C6655 in a product such as an airborne millimeter-wave radar host computer, and need to submit this product for airworthiness certification, can Texas Instruments provide supporting documents like processor environmental test reports to help substantiate the airworthiness validation? I anticipate complex procedures including confidentiality agreements, but I hope to have a starting point to address this.

I checked with our internal team and the feedback is that we do not have certification and no plans to do that in future.
