PROCESSOR-SDK-AM62X: How configure the UART from GPIO and GPIO from UART?

Hello TI team,

My application requirement is during application runtime the UART pin should be convert to GPIO for some functionality, and after that this particular pin must be again configure as a GPIO.

What is the step I should follow?

How to do it with register method or any API is there to change pinmux during run time?

Hi Ameya,

Can you please tell which SDK version are you using?

Are you using UART with DMA enabled?

SDK: - mcu_plus_sdk_am62x_09_01_00_39

NO not using DMA, I am using UART1, ball A16

Hi Ameya,

Thanks for the above information.

Yes, the above is possible. You will need to close the UART peripheral and then de-init the UART instance.

After this again do the pin mux to configure the pin as GPIO. Now proceed with GPIO configuration and the pin can be used as GPIO.

May I know how it is possible with register method, As I am not using any API in my development. Which register and for to modify the mux mode?

Hi Ameya,

There are PADCONFIG register which you will need to modify for mux mode selection. Please refer to the device datasheet and TRM for details.
