Can DM8168 encode RGB data?

Hi,

Is it possible to give RGB data as input to DM8168 HDVICP and get H264 stream out of it? I am using ezsdk_5_03_01_15.

Hi Krunal,

DM8168 HDVICP2 accepts only YUV420 SP format.

Even the H264 standard defined/supports on YUV formats and not RGB.

Thanks for the information.

I was referring to the HDVICP2 userguide and seems it is supported so I am bit confused here. I am attaching the userguide provided with the EZSDK. Kindly refer page #87, 55. It says the inputChromaformat can be any of the value mentioned on page #87. Please correct me, If I have misunderstood the encoder parameter.

In the older encoder user-guides (on other davinci family e.g. DM6467) it used to be clearly mentioned that the encoder does not support any format other than YUV420.
