How can I build a single kernel module or driver in the standalone Linux kernel provided by the TI Processor SDK, without rebuilding the entire kernel?

Please explain the steps to compile a specific driver file either from within the source tree or as an out-of-tree module.

Please refer the following guide -
3.2.1.5.3. Compiling the Kernel Modules

Make sure to set the cross-compile environment variables as mentioned and configure the kernel using the recommended defconfig before compiling the kernel module.

Hi,

We are using the SK-AM62-LP board. Could you please confirm whether we need to use a specific device tree fragment , or if the default defconfig is sufficient for building the image?

For the SK-AM62-LP EVM, the default defconfig provided in the SDK is sufficient
