NAND flash interface to OMAP 3530

NAND devices are not memory mapped so you are not bounded by the GPMC memory map space, however, we do not support MLC NAND devices.  Typically their page size is too large and requires too many ECC bits.  the GPMC supports up to 8b ECC and 4K page size.

ok if i use SLC NAND flash (4 Gbyte size ), how to interface, there are 8 CS options in OMAP 3530. please suggest me i am very new to this field

hello,

NAND devices are not memory mapped so you are not bounded by the GPMC's 1GB memory map space.  The GPMC supports up to 8b ECC and 4K page size. so you can use a wide range of NAND devices.  Please keep in mind that our ROM code only supports 1b ECC for booting, but for non boot applications you can use a NAND that is up to 8b ECC. on the OMAP35x
