SK-AM62-LP: TI Launcher Apps not working

Part Number: SK-AM62-LP

Tool/software:

Hi,

We are using the TI processor SDK ti-processor-sdk-linux-am62xx-evm-11.00.09.04. I am building the Linux kernel and copying Kernel images, dtbs and modules into the RootFS.
I didn't do any modifications in the Filesystem. The launcher TI apps is not showing in the HDMI.

Please let me know your inputs on the same

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Salih

  • Hi Salih,

Could you please share the full boot log from the UART terminal?

    Regards,
    Johnson

  • Hi Johnson John,

I am getting below error in my HDMI display after the boot:

Still, I can able to re-launch the apps like below:

But I couldn't navigate the mouse inside the apps, it keeps on printing the error:

Failed to move cursor on screen HDMI1: -14
Failed to move cursor on screen HDMI1: -14
Failed to move cursor on screen HDMI1: -14
Failed to move cursor on screen HDMI1: -14
Failed to move cursor on screen HDMI1: -14

Please let me know the solution of this same.

I have attached the complete logs also here

  • Hi Salih,

thanks for sharing the logs. I'm looping in an expert. Please allow him some time to get back to you with a response.

    Regards,
    Johnson

  • Hi Salih,
    A few questions for you:
    1. Since you are using TI EVM are you using default SD card image, are you modifying something in kernel and then rebuilding and using this.
    2. I am assuming you tried with the default SDK image and that worked? If so what changes have done in kernel that led to this?

  • Hi,

While using the pre-built binaries, there is no such issues observed. But while buidling the Linux and the modules, then I have copied those Image and DTB files into the SD card. Also I have copied the modules under /lib/modules. At this instant, I'm facing this issue. I didn't modify any code changes inside the Linux Kernel.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Salih

  • Hi,
This observation is not expected to happen.
There must have been some change. Help me out with the following:

    1. Share your build steps exactly, including the commands you used to build and copy.
Did you use make linux and then make linux_install?

    2. In the non-working case, share the output of following:

    lsmod
    systemctl stop emptty
    kmsprint
    modetest -M tidss
    modetest
    ls -l /dev/dri/*
