TMX320C6678 NAND BOOT PROBLEM

Hi,

we have problem about booting from NAND flash. We are already burn the factory images to EVM and our two boards.

when we set the boot settings switch to nand boot position, EVM and one of the our boards works fine.

But other board not working and we are not seeing anything in hyperterminal screen. We monitored i2c bus and NAND Chip Enable Signal.

I2C bus and NAND Chip enable signal traffics of EVM and our two boards are same.

In addition to this when we try to connect to our not working board with CCS, we get this error

" Error connecting to the target:
CPU hangs, but driver forces it ready and issues an halt. Retry connection again! (Error -1143) @ 0 (0x0) "

what does this error mean an how can we learn the cpu state ?

In the EVM which fails, can you check if the POST works first. That will help to understand that ibL is set correctly. Is the board that is failing is in little endian or big endian. The error is so generic. I can see if I can get additional info, but just try the board in no boot to check the board working as well.

The POST code works EVM and our all cards. EVM and our cards works with little endian settings.

We changed MCSDK version from 2.00.00.11 to 2.00.05.17 and our nand boot problem was solved.

I am testing the NAND boot over I2C example but failed, I want to know what tool did you use to convert the file from *.out to *.bin, thanks.

Hi,

We did not found the out2bin tool. We just renamed *.out file to *.bin and it works.

H everyone,

I have costum board. I installed tmxc6678 on it. Does NANAD EMIF BOOT by using I2c EEPROM works for tmxc6678?

Yes, its works with Intermediate Boot Loader (IBL).
