TDA4VM: TDA4VM EVB KIT Revision

Part Number: TDA4VM

Tool/software:

Hello
Based on the TDA4VM CPU, we designed a sample by designing an AIEDGE board suitable for customer specifications.
Of course, based on the TDA4VM EVB Demokit sprr438b version of TI product, we designed a new PCB board to make a sample.
As a prototype sample, the circuit was ARTWORK by applying the TDA4VM EVB Demo KIT as it is, and the BOM on the sample board was applied as it is to produce the sample.

But the power is not operating at all, so what should I check first?

The TDA4VM EVB Demokit was purchased as a sample and tested in advance by uploading the image file provided by TI.

The sample demo kit works very well.

The new sample we produced doesn't work, so what's the problem?

Can you tell me what I need to check first?

  • I would suggest the following for initial trouble-shooting:

    1. If you have not already done so, please download the Jacinto SCH Checklist (Jacinto7 AM6x/TDA4x/DRA8x Schematic Checklist (Rev. B)) from TI website. Enable Excel macros and review your SCH vs checklist items.

    2. Capture your system SoC power up sequence to determine if:

         A. Every SoC supply is being energized as desired per DM's recommended power up sequence,

         B. Both MCU_PORz & PORz reset signals are transitioning as desired per DM's recommended power up sequence.

         C. Crystal oscillator ramps up to provide valid wake-up clock

         D. Verify bootmode signals are correct for intended boot memory

  • hi Dear

    How  are you today?

Recently, I was unable to debug TDA4 due to another project.

So I'm going to start again.

However, the power problems has not been solved yet.

I also followed the reference guide for the PCB ARTWORK, but I can't  power what's wrong.

The adapter is using a dedicated adapter used  by TDA4 EVB KIT.

when the adapter is connected to the exiting TDA4-EVB KIT, the sample demo is powered  well.

However, when I connect the C-Type connector to the new board, the power does not work at all.

When the adapter is connected,  the VBUS_IN terminal is powered to  0V at 25pin  U30(TPS25750DRJKR) in the circuit.

In the circuit and PCB ARTWORK, the pattern is very well connected.

I did a power short inspection after SMT work. but there is no short on the PCB substrate at the moment .

And what's the role of latice chip?

Is it also related to ppower booting  ?

And can I get ad brief description f this prodect .

I'm looking for forword to findling ad good solution form,
