J721S2XSOMXEVM: J721S2: TDA4VE-Q1: GESI: Getting started with enet_loopback example in PDK

Part Number: J721S2XSOMXEVM

Tool/software:

Hi,

I am trying to understand how the enet_loopback works, as per my understanding if I set testPhyLoopback to BTRUE, it should use PHY to do the loopback test and not MAC; but in my case, even if I set testPhyLoopback to BTRUE, the loopback test prints everything is fine and that the test runs successfully even when no cables are connected to any of the RJ45 ports on GESI or CPB.

I would like to know, if I miss something or if there is some issue with the default config.

Thanks in advance

Best,
Moses

No need to connect the cable, the movent PHY is configured in loopback mode, you get Link Up.

No, it will work even if the RJ45 cable is not connected.
