Hello experts,
I need assistance with implementing a requirement to add hsr0 to bridge br0.
Hello Pengfei,
1. What Linux SDK version are you currently using?
2. Is the "Linux DEV" what I assume is using AM64x? Is this a custom board or a TI AM64x EVM?
3. What steps did you use to setup hsr0? I assume you used eth1 and eth2 (the PRU-ICSSG Ethernet interfaces) to setup hsr0?
4. Is the connection between hsr0 and the Red BOX a physical Ethernet cable connection? If so, were you connecting both physical eth1 and eth2 ports to the Red BOX?

1.ti-processor-sdk-linux-rt-am64xx-evm-09.02.00.08-Linux.
2.yes.it's a a custom board.
3.I am using TI's script file.
4.hsr0 and the red box are connected via Ethernet. Moreover, I believe that for the red box, whether eth1 and eth2 are connected individually or both are connected does not affect this issue. Before br0 was established, PC2 could successfully ping hsr0 through the red box.
Hi Pengfei,
Just to double check are eth1 and eth2 both PRU-ICSSG Ethernet interfaces in your setup?
Is your intention to make the AM64x function essentially like a Redbox? I.e. eth1 and eth2 are used for the hsr interface and eth0 to connect to a non-redundant network?
-Daolin
1.Both eth1 and eth2 are PRU-ICSSG Ethernet interfaces, and the hsr0 interface has been established using the official script files。
2.As shown in the topology diagram and described earlier, the implementation functionality of our Linux device in this project does appear to bear some resemblance to a Redbox.
Hello Pengfei,
Unfortunately we currently don't have software support to enable AM64x to function as a Redbox. Currently AM64x is able to function as an HSR DAHN (double attached HSR node), however not as a Redbox. There are simply additional changes that are required to enable AM64x as a Redbox.
I'm planning on bringing this Redbox use case internally to see if this is something we can enable. However, I need a bit more information about what is the ultimate end application your team is planning on using AM64x in this configuration for? Do you have information on the volume/estimated shipment of this end device you are developing? What is the expected start of production?
