VPIF vs UPP for Image Sensor

Now we are developing a system for capturing CMOS sensor data(BW), and after some processing then display the result.

We selected the AM1808, while from the datasheet and others documents, the data capture could be completed through VPIF or UPP.

Then which is the best selection, VPIF or UPP?

Function need be realized: Capture raw data, Some processing, then displayed on the LCD(Processing result or raw image).

Dennis,

The more commonly used peripheral for interfacing CMOS sensor is VPIF. Please provide some more detail on the format of the data from the sensor.

We have driver board for the sesor, and transfer data through CameraLink, while which can offer FV, LV, CLK and Data is 8 bit.

From your reply and the documents maybe the VPIF is best selection!

Dennis,

I thought Cameralink is a serial standard/interface. Please keep in mind that the FV, LV, CLK, and Data need to be all parallel if you want to use VPIF to capture.
