Hi All,

When booting with eMMC,
can it operate by specifying file like microCD?

The first 8MB of eMMC is designated as the boot area.
From the top of the eMMC,
tiboot3.bin at 0x0000,
tispl.bin at 0x0400,
and u-boot.img at 0x1400.
Is this location fixed in the AM62 eMMC boot?

Can you store this as a file in the USER area (FAT area) and operate it?

FAT area of eMMC.

Hi Ito,

AM62 supports both RAW mode (booting from fixed offsets in the eMMC Boot0 or Boot1 partition) and filesystem (FS) mode (booting from files in a FAT partition in the eMMC User Data Area).

Thank you for your reply.

Does it mean that eMMC can be changed by DISP-SW Fs/Raw setting ?
The Primary side has Fs/Raw switching, but the Backup side has only port specification. Is this correct ?

Hi Ito,

Yes, you are right. For primary boot, both RAW and FS boot modes from eMMC are supported, which can be selected using the corresponding DIP-SW setting. For backup boot, only FS mode from UDA is supported. You can also refer to the AM62x TRM, section 5.4.4.
