I2c4 configuration

Which device part number are you using?

For the OMAP35xx and AM37xx/DM37xx, I2C4 is allocated only for supporting PMIC (Power Management ICs) that include SmartReflex.  I2C4 is a master-transmitter peripheral only.  You can perform read operations.

EDITED : You can not perform read operations on I2C4.

Yes we are using AM3703,

Using i2c tools, i2cdetect i did,

i2c-dev-3

It 's showing on the target board,

I want to know, How can i access the battery information using i2c4.

You said read operation can be performed,

so show me how to do read operation ,

slave address = 0x09,

for read = 0x13, and write = 0x12 address mentioned in the LTC4155 datasheet.

Sorry about that.  I neglected to type the very important word not.

It should read "You can not perform read operations."

In LTC4155 datasheet, the address given for reading and writing using i2c.

In our schematic, i2c4 communication need to be done for accessing battery.

Not possible means for reading and writing i didn't get?

I'm sorry, but in reality the solution for connecting to a battery via I2C is to use a different I2C interface than I2C4.  The I2C4 is strictly dedicated for the purpose of supporting SmartReflex only.

I'm trying to initialize the i2c4 bus using omap_register_i2c_bus().  I'm using an OMAP3517.

Is the I2C4 bus restricted in the same way for the 3517?  Can I use it for read/write operations to an I2C device?
