TDA4VM: What is the difference between ECC functionality in DDR chip and DDR ECC functionality in TDA4VM?

Part Number: TDA4VM

Tool/software:

Hi expert.

I'm interested in ECC function because I have bit-flip issue.

I'm using samsung DDR that has own ECC function. I didn't set AP's DDR ECC function.

1. What is the difference ECC functions? is it same?

2. Are there ECC functions of NOR, eMMC and DMA in TDA4VM AP?

Thank you.

  • Hi,

I will look into your question and get back to you by Monday. Please expect this delay in response due to holiday in India.

  • Hi,

You can refer to sections "8.2.4.1.4 Inline ECC for SDRAM Data" and "8.2.4.4 DDRSS ECC Support" of the TDA4VM TRM for details on the ECC functionality of the DDR in TDA4VM.

Could you provide more details on what you mean by the ECC on DDR chip?

    2. Are there ECC functions of NOR, eMMC and DMA in TDA4VM AP?

Please check with your vendor for details on ECC for the external memories.

    Regards,

    Josiitaa
