Hey 

I have a question about the RMII clock configuration on P379 of the TRM.

The RMII clock configuration consists of Figure 5-23(a) and (b), but the document states that (a) configuration is not supported.

I want to configure (a), is it really not supported?

    Bhavpreeta,

    Sorry for the delayed response during my OoO. 

    Yes, the internal ref clk option is unsupported. The reason is that the RMII spec requires the clock to be within a certain ppm for successful operation; we cannot guarantee that the clock sharing to the external PHY over the PCB/ traces can still meet the ppm requirement required for the RMII operation.

    You could certainly validate if it fits your system use case and implement if found satisfactory.
