Hi:

I am running TMDS64EVM, without Operation System.

If my bare-metal system encounters an error and reboots, we want to read the reset reason from CTRLMMR_MCU_RST_SRC.

My question is: when the system boots, it goes through the SBL and then the application. Will this register preserve its value across the SBL-to-application transition, or is it cleared during that stage?

Hello Jun Tu,

Yes, the SOC boot flow is the same in POR and WarmReset.

If the SOC goes to WarmReset, the above register gives the Reset cause details.

If the SOC goes to POR, then the above register content is zero and this is the default register value.

during SBL to application transition the error code will preserve, since there is no POR dring the transition from SBL to application.

Yes, Jun Tu, your understanding is correct.

If there is no POR, the Reset reason should be presented in the above register.
