I'm going to be doing some development with the DM8168 EVM, so I should probably get an emulator. I'm basically a hardware guy (last time I used an emulator was an AMI unit on a 68000 about 27 years ago) so I don't really know what features are important in an emulator. The Blackhawk XDS-560v2 seems to offer reasonable functionality for the money. Is that a good choice? What advantage would I get going to a pricier unit? What would I lose if I got something substantially cheaper? The Blackhawk unit seems to be cheaper than the equivalent Spectrum Digital. Might I get better integration using the Spectrum Digital with the DM8168 EVM (designed by Spectrum Digital).
I might also be doing some work with an AM3358. Would that affect the answer?
Thanks
Pete
