how to run standalone demo programs

Dear,

I am using linux , can you please tell me the steps to run standalone demo programs which are from Starterware examples for Beaglebone.even I refered this link http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM335X_StarterWare_Booting_And_Flashing#Boot_Modes but still not clear can you please give me a bit clear explanation.Thanks in advance.

If you don't mind being in debug mode, on Beaglebone you can use CCSv5 and connect with JTAG for loading code as described here:

That is what I have been doing with the Starterware UART example.

The Wiki page you mention above is more for a standalone system (and do able). But the above is easier for demo/debug (if you don't mind installing CCSv5).
