AM68A: Clarification aboute memory requirement for video encoder

Part Number: AM68A

Tool/software:

Hi experts,

in the Processor SDK Linux we have 3.7 Multimedia Video Codec. There is the statement: "The Actual Memory foot print may vary depending on the input stream.".

Can anyone please clarify this a bit more. We know that its difficult as it depends on the video size and framerate. But maybe it is possible for streams with D1 resolution (720x480, 30fps). How much memory (total and CMA) would be necessary to encode (H.264) 1, 4 and 8 streams? What is the absolute minimal memory requirement?

Thanks in advance,

Frank Bergmann
