OMAP-L137: VDD pins disconnected

Part Number: OMAP-L137

Tool/software:

Hello everyone,
In my current design I used OMAP-L137 BGA package and the PCB design has a major error with L11 and L12 pin are connected to GND. My question are:

  • Can I remove the part and isolate the these pins from GND but leave these pins float?
  • What are the impact if these pins not connected to the VDD?
  • Can the part still fully functioning if these pins are not connected to VDD?
  • Which function block are these pins (L11 and L12) supply power to?

I've looked around to see if there are any document mention the details of the logic/function block that connected these pins to but found none. Please advise me on this matter, thank you everyone for your inputs. Your help is really appreciated, and happy Friday!

Best Regards,
TLN

Can I remove the part and isolate the these pins from GND but leave these pins float?

No. The part is designed to work with the pins connected as documented

What are the impact if these pins not connected to the VDD?

I don't have this level of detail. However, i suspect it could range from IO pins not being powered, reliability issues, to signal integrity issues.

Can the part still fully functioning if these pins are not connected to VDD?

Again,  I don't have that level of detail. Pins should be connected as documented.

Which function block are these pins (L11 and L12) supply power to?

    I don't have this information.

  • Hi Paul,
Looks like I have to figure out how to connect these pins to VDD to conform with the datasheet. Thank you for your response, much appreciated. Cheers!
