DM368 and ARP failure

My customer is having the following problem, can you advise? They are working with:

EVM368

Code Sourcery ARM GNU Tool Chain Version 2009q1-203

DVSDK Version 4.02.00.06, 2011-25-03

PSP Version 3.31.00.04, 2011-5-4

We’ve had the DaVinci EVMs running in a couple of different demo setups. The latest setup won’t allow ARP to pass through the cloud between the two EVMs. It should be as easy as manipulating the ARP table but it doesn’t look like ARP is supported on the EVMs. Is there an alternate way to go in and hard code IP/MAC addresses?

i.e., arp -s IPaddress MACaddress

ARP works fine on the EVM. What is this cloud you speak of? ARP is a protocol that exists only on the local subnet. Perhaps you need to put in a gateway setting on both units and program the gateways accordingly in order for the units to talk.

We also were able to use it without issue on the local direct connection. We are trying to figure out how we do the equivalent of an "arp -s IPaddress MACaddress". Can you point us?

Are you able to ping between the two EVMs? I would suspect a gateway/router/switch issue.

We are trying to figure out how we do the equivalent of an "arp -s IPaddress MACaddress" in order to create an entry in the ARP tables. The DVSK does not appear to support this. Can you tell us if this is possible and how we would go about it?

I really don't think you know what you are doing. You cannot access another device using the mac address if it's on another subnet.
