AM6442: Ethernet/IP adapter stack configuration for one-port device

Hi,

We have a product using your AM6442 processor (F-variant) running in a custom board which is based on your EVM design. Biggest delta to EVM is that our board only has one physical ethernet port. 

There is no documentation available on how to configure the Ethernet/IP stack (provided in industrial comms SDK) to work in one-port configuration. Currently stack fails in initialization as second ethernet phy is not preset. Could you provide some information on how to configure the stack correctly for one-port operations ? There are many Ethernet/IP end-products having only one port, so I would be a bit surprised, if this is not possible.

    Hello Toni,

    The standard EtherNet/IP adapter stack is not configured to support single port operation. However, it is technically feasible to modify both the PRU firmware and the stack to enable operation using only one port.
    As this would be an application customization, we recommend contacting your local TI Sales office to discuss a tailored solution that meets your specific requirements.
