Tool/software:
Hello,
We are currently using TI AM3358/6 with ti-processor-sdk-linux-am335x-evm-02.00.02.11 (Linux 4.1.18).
Now we want to upgrade to Linux kernel 5.10.
As far as I know, TI officially provides Yocto (Processor SDK Linux) as the default build system.
However, Yocto images are too large for our product environment, and we would like to use Buildroot instead to minimize the footprint.
My questions are:
-
Does TI officially support Buildroot for AM335x with Linux 5.10 (or later)?
-
If not, is there any TI-provided configuration, patch, or reference to run Buildroot with TI kernel (5.10.y) and AM335x?
-
Would TI recommend staying with Yocto SDK and then stripping down the rootfs, instead of trying Buildroot?
Any guidance or official statement about Buildroot support for AM335x would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance.
