AM4378: Function and relationship between the PORZn pin and the RESETIN_OUTn pin

First, I would like to confirm that I understand how PORZn and RESETIN_OUTn(/SYS_RESET) function. As shown in the diagram below, PORZn is an input pin for switch or power supply monitoring, and it triggers the global reset. Therefore, it's okay to slow down the voltage ramp rate using an RC filter, etc.

RESETIN_OUTn is the global reset output pin. It connects to the reset input pins of each IC in the system, and pulls this pin low when PORZn goes low.


My question is, why does the EVM board connect PORZn to RESETIN_OUTn via U74 Buffer ? I assume there is some kind of buffering circuitry inside the CPU, but is that incorrect?
