AM6442: AM6442

Part Number: AM6442

Tool/software:

I’m evaluating the AM6442 (AM64x family) for a project that requires strict compliance with certain TSN standards. I have reviewed the datasheet, SDK release notes (SPRT769), and driver documentation, but I could not find explicit confirmation on whether the following are hardware- or firmware-supported for AM6442:

  1. IEEE 802.1CB — Frame Replication & Elimination for Reliability
  2. IEEE 802.1AE — MACsec (Media Access Control Security)
  3. IEEE 802.1Qci — Per-Stream Filtering & Policing

Specifically, could you clarify:

  • If AM6442 supports these standards in silicon / hardware accelerators, or whether they must be implemented in software / firmware (e.g. via PRU-ICSSG).
  • If there are any example driver stacks, SDK versions, or EVM demonstrations showing these features.
  • If support for any of these is planned (roadmap) if not currently available.

Thanks very much for your assistance.

  • Hi Dao,

Apologies for the delay! The first two IEE standards are not supported. We have software support for the IEEE 802.1Qci standard on the CPSW side (but no on/off gate support). We do not support on ICSS. We currently have plans to support 802.1CB on ICSS towards the end of 2025.
