AM62L: eMMC boot partition detail

Part Number: AM62L

Tool/software:

Hi,

My assigned focus customer asks:

Can you please confirm or deny that the ‘Primary MMC0 eMMC Boot Partition’ option circled in green below is a boot option that supports booting from the dedicated boot partition and/or booting from the user data area (UDA)?

If there is nothing in the eMMC device, how long does it take for the ROM to time out and move on to the secondary boot device (USB DFU)?

If nothing is sent over USB0, how long does it take for the ROM to time out and circle back to the primary boot option (MMC0 eMMC Boot Partition)?

Also, Please let us know which die rev your information is applicable too...for instance do they need to get the second Rev of die EVMs.

Thanks!

Blake

  • Hi Blake,

    Please refer to the e2e
RE: AM62L: eMMC boot failure in reduced pin mode

The issue <i2435 Boot: ROM timeout for eMMC boot too long> was fixed in AM62L SR 1.1. My preliminary testing with AM62L SR1.1 is boot switching from empty eMMC to the backup boot media happens "instantly" on SR 1.1 silicon.

Let me check internally on the timeout value in SR 1.1, and get back to you.
    Best,
