One DDR EMIF usage

Hi,

As DM8168 has two DDR EMIF which can support the upto 2GB memory. Is it possible to use only one DDR EMIF with 1GB memory on that. If it is possible than what kind of care should be taken for other unused EMIF?

Hello,

Yes, that is possible. If all or part of a DDR interface is not used, please follow the instructions in the section "16-Bit DDR3 Interface" of the datasheet.

So in hardware I need to pull up / Pull down all DQS pins and pull down for VTP pin of not used DDR EMIF, Is there any register setting or software settings are required for unused DDR EMIF?

Hello,

The DDR2/DDR3 memory controller and PHY can be disabled. For details of power management in the DDR2/DDR3 memory controller, see the DDR2/DDR3 Memory Controller chapter in the TRM.
