Hi team,
The customer use single or dual link of OLDI. In the both case, AM625 can support up to 2048x1080 @ 60 fps, right ?

Hi Morita-san,
According to this [FAQ] display subsystem of AM625 supports the following max resolution:
AM625 display system capabilities
Display subsystem
– Dual display support
– 1920x1080 @ 60fps for each display
– 1x 2048x1080 + 1x 1280x720
– Up to 165 MHz pixel clock support with
Independent PLL for each display
What do these numbers mean? For which display?
On AM62x, we have two displays that could be driven independently. Both displays have independent PLLs and the independent PLLs allows users to connect two 1080p displays simultaneously with no restriction on FPS (VSYNC=60 Hz).
The only impact to the system would be bandwidth. On AM62x, we only have 16bit DDR and if GPU or CPU were performing complex operations, they will not have enough bandwidth to get 60 FPS. The performance would vary based on the workload. Given the DDR limitations, we recommend customers to connect a 1920x1080 and 1280x720 screen for dual display to allow GPU and/or CPU to have bandwidth for their respective workload.
Resolution 2048x1080 for which display? LVDS in dual-channel mode? In the datasheet, it is mentioned 1x 2048x1080 + 1x 1280x720 resolution. Why?
Both interfaces support upto 165MHz and it's up to the customer to chose the interface. In general, LVDS supports higher resolution panels like (1920x1200 or 2048x1080 or 1280x720) and DPI supports lower resolution panels.
OLDI interface supports (snapshot from TRM):

Hi Stan,
Thanks for your reply . I've clarified the customer's conditions more specifically to get simply "yes" or "no".
To minimize the pin resource, they asked us if AM625 can support 1920 x 1080 at 60fps with only single link OLDI or not. Would that be possible ?
I had checked this FAQ and TRM, the datasheet and application notes Although I believe that should be possible, I couldn't get the answer clearly so I posted this question to E2E for double-checking.
TRM mentioned as below but it seem pixel clock is higher than AM625 specification.

Hello Toshiaki Morita
Thank you.

A single video port seems to be supporting single link as well as double link display interface.
I would expect the display resolution supported to be same between single link and double link.
As you may be aware, the OLDI x2 single link supports only mirror mode.

Sreenivasa,
For their decision to use this device in their next project, this is the key criteria. Is there way to confirm definitely if AM625 can support 1920 x 1080 at 60fps with single link ?

Hello Toshiaki Morita
Thank you.
Let me check again and comeback.
