AM62L: DDR RAM optimization configuration changes

Hii,

I have a custom board that uses the AM62Lx microprocessor.
It also includes a different DDR RAM module.
I’ve already generated the DDR configuration using the online SysConfig tool.
Where should I integrate these changes in the Yocto build — in the DTSI file or in a header file to apply my DDR RAM changes?

Hi Parv,

If you have generated the DDR configuration changes, that should have created a dtsi file on the sysconfig tool. Please replace the exisiting AM62L DDR config that you may have received with our software offering.

Along with that you would need to change the u-boot and tfa with the below mentioned changes with relevant DDR configuration related to your custom board.

Hi Suren,

As you suggest, I need to replace generated dtsi file with u-boot-ti-staging folder.
I refer suggested thread about how to replace the dtsi. But as mentioned in AM62L-PROCESSOR-SDK: Bootprint issue with 1GB DDR thread, there is no such file name like AM62Lx-IG69M-LP4-50-800.dtsi from where i put my configuration details and build kernel according to my board.

From SysConfig Tool i got attached image files.

My Linux configuration version is: 11.00.15.05

Hi Parv,

If using 11.00.15.05 released software, the default DDR device tree file "AM62Lx-SKEVM-LP4-50-800.dtsi" can be found in board-support/trusted-firmware-a-2.12+git/fdts

You would have to replace this file with the custom generated DDR dtsi file. Also, if you are not retaining the same name, then modify the k3-am62l-ddr.dts file in the same path to include your custom generated dtsi file.

Hi Suren,

I found the k3-am62l-ddr.dts file inside trusted-firmware-a folder. I copied my DDR configuration file, updated the include path, and modified the memory size in the k3-am62l-ddr.dts file to match my RAM size.

I also updated the memory node details in my kernel source with the new RAM size at:
tisdk/build/arago-tmp-default-glibc/work-shared/am62lxx-evm/kernel-source/arch/arm64/dts/ti/k3-am62l3-evm.dts

Then I just need to forcefully recompile and deploy trusted-firmware-a.

Is this sufficient to configure my custom DDR, or do I need to update anything else?
