SK-AM62B-P1: Unable to boot linux

Hello Experts,

We are evaluating SK-AM62B-P1 and following the quick start guide. (https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=A__AbbWmNvlfzgJuC3e95XC8A__PROCESSORS-DEVTOOLS__FUz-xrs__LATEST)

Even after following steps mentioned in quick start guide, but failing to boot linux. Nothing appears on Tera term.

Procedure followed:

- Setup:

Board: SK-AM62B-P1

Image:

Windows PC

- Image creation tool: balenaEtcher
- SD card:
I tried three different types.
8GB: Played when the creation tool ran out of space.
16GB: The creation tool was able to write. The Linux log does not appear.
128GB: The creation tool was able to write. The Linux log does not appear.
- Dip switch:
Switch state as instructed.
- USB UART
Four COM ports were recognized.
Changed each port 115200 baud rate, 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, and no flow control.
- Checked with Renaming the file
In the Start Guide, you can rename the file.
I tried both when I changed the file name and when I didn't, but there was no change.

- Checked UART-USB driver, but nothing changed

Hi,

Could you try the UART bootmode and check if you get C characters every 2-3 seconds on the UART0 port? Set the bootmode switches as shown below

Hey Johnson,

Yes, confirmed the C characters. (This time haven't connected any micro SD card to the board here)

Hi Bhavpreeta,

Could you please confirm whether the boot files have indeed been flashed onto the 16GB SD card? Also let me know which version of the development board you have - GP or HS-FS?

I will ask customer to double check the sd card.

Why do they need to check if the device is HS-FS or GP? I just want to understand how this helps.

As I mentioned earlier, they tried by changing the names but no change was observed?

In that case, please also ask them to try create the SD card using the default images provided in the SDK following these steps -
