AM6412: Using pin CLKREQn

Part Number: AM6412

Tool/software:

We are planning to use the PCIe interface Root Complex on the AM6412.

We will be generating the PCIe reference clock from the AM6412.

Our design includes a PCIe Endpoint that may or may-not be installed.

We would like to use the CLKREQn (D16 ball) as a way to (automatically) determine if the PCIe interface should be active or quiet.

Q1/ Can you please tell me if there is driver support in Linux (and u-boot) to properly support the CLKREQn pin ?

Q2/ And if so, is this a dts-driver config, or ASPM config ?

Thanks,

Steve

  • Hi Steve,

The CLKREQn pin is not used for PCIe function on AM64x EVM.

Based on the description in AM64x TRM section 12.2.2.4.3 (PCIe Subsystem Power Management), it doesn't seem that the CLKREQn pin requires any software control.
