TDA4AEN-Q1: TDA4AEN PMIC NVM LDO2_VOUT Change Effects

Part Number: TDA4AEN-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65223

Hi TI Experts,

Customer is drawing their own TDA4AEN board, during the schematic design, customer finds the latest NVM of TPS65223 has the following change that the LDO2_VOUT voltage is changed from 3.3V to 1.8V. Customer has a great concern if this change needs TDA4 power supply side has the corresponding modifications or not? Customer is about to finish the schematic design, and really need our quick feedback on this point, they are not sure if they need do any modifications on TDA4AEN power supply side to meet this change.

Thanks,

Kevin

  • The PMIC supports different configurations which are selected by the pin states when the devices first powers up.  See application note: Link

In some configurations, LDO2 output is set for 3.3V (LDO Bypass mode).  In other configurations, LDO2 is set to operate at 1.8V.

For the TDA4AEN EVM, the select PMIC configuration is such that LDO2 is set for 3.3V (LDO Bypass mode).

    Does that answer your questions?
