AM6442: SDK roadmap

Hi TI experts,

can you give me the information when the next version of the Processor SDK will be released? Currently we work with 11.01.05.03, and I am curious if it is worth for us to wait some more weeks before we start finalizing our product, and switch to the newest version.

A roadmap with new planned features for the next x releases would be very helpful.

    Hello Benjamin,

    AM64x SDK 11.2 is planned for mid to late December 2025. That is the last SDK release we are planning for SDK 11.x, in 1Q2026 the development team will pivot to working on SDK 12.0.

    Are there specific features or bugs that you are curious about?

    Hi Nick,
    thanks for the information. One issue that seems to be still open is [EXT_EP-12285] SK-AM64B: Deferred probe of i2c bus warning - Software Issue Report (SIR).
    We ran into this as well when using the i2c from the R5.

    Also I wonder if there are plans to add an ADC driver to u-boot, since we want to use the ADC for board detection during boot.

    I2C discussion

    The "deferred probe of I2C bus warning" should be resolved starting in SDK 11.1, which was released a few months ago... If you are still observing the behavior on SDK 11.1, please share a boot log with me and I will re-start that discussion with the team.

    When you say "when using the i2c from the R5", I assume you are talking about R5F SPL instead of during runtime? If you are also seeing issues with R5F using I2C during runtime, please provide additional information about that.

    ADC in U-Boot? 

    I am not aware of any plans to add an ADC driver to u-boot. Has the hardware implementation for board detection already been locked in? How are yall thinking about setting the different values for different boards?
