how to support SD analog video in DM8148

I Have a DM8148 EVM with expand Board which support HD input.

But I'd like to quich support D1 SD analog video input, how to do that?

1. Is it possible without hardware modifiction?

2. Is it possible without change M3 firmware?

3. Is it possible without change Openmax

4. Is it possible without change current V4l2 driver ti81xxvin.ko, just do that by add a v4l2 driver.

Answers to your questions.

1. D1 capture is possible on EVM using TVP5147 Decoder. M3 firmware is not updated with TVP5147 driver.

2. This is not possible without changing M3 firmware if you are using EZSDK.

3. No

3. Yes its possible to support TVP5147 drivers using V4L2 capture driver. You can refer to DM8148 IO expansion card schematic can be found at http://www.mistralsolutions.com/pes-products/development-platforms/tmdxevm8148.html?phpMyAdmin=01ab13889148490e8d23c7ff6925ee04 and you can refer to following link on how to add new decoder support to V4L2 capture driver at http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/DM81xx_AM38xx_Adding_External_Decoders_to_V4L2_Capture_Driver. TVP514x driver is already available in Linux source tree so you only need to hook it up with V4L2 capture driver.

my applicaton will use V4l2 and codec engine, will not use openmax,

So, Do you mean I need only change ti814xvin.ko V4L2 input driver, add TVP5147 I2C support,

then I can use SD video capture, without change M3 firmware and vpss firmware and their drivers?
